Introduction

The London Countertrade Roundtable (LCR) was established in 1988 as a focal point for all those involved in countertrade, offset and related activities. Its main objective is "to bring together companies and individuals engaged in the profession of countertrade in its broadest sense", and to promote co-operation, exchange of information, and opportunities for networking. It achieves this via regular meetings, with guest speakers (subject to Chatham House rules), and via the LCR website, on which all members are entitled to have their own individual entry. The LCR also seeks to represent the interests of all those involved in countertrade, and of the industries in which it operates, to Government and other peripheral but influential parties.

Within the membership, LCR can boast a vast breadth of experience and expertise in all aspects of countertrade, and its associated supporting professions. These include specialists in such fields as commodity trading, banking, law, shipping, and trade credit insurance, who, in turn, have access to experts in their own respective fields. Hence, the LCR provides British industry with an easy access point for all expertise related to countertrade and offset. You can find out more about individual members here.

The LCR is an organisation that does not seek publicity. It is run by an elected committee for the benefit of the membership and the profession. Meetings are normally held quarterly in the premises of individual members, and costs are kept to a minimum. The LCR is entirely self-financing, and has allegiances only to its members.
